Shirley McWilliams Acupuncture, Inc.
Traditional Chinese Medicine is an effective form of health care that has evolved into a complete and holistic medical system. Practitioners of acupuncture and Chinese medicine have used this noninvasive medical system to diagnose and help millions of people get well and stay healthy.
An Acupuncturist will place fine, sterile needles at specific acupoints in the body. This activates the body’s Qi and promotes natural healing by enhancing recuperative power, immunity, and physical and emotional health. It also can improve overall function and well-being. It is a safe, painless, and effective way to treat various medical conditions. An acupuncturist will treat, using one or more modalities under the scope of practice.
Elizabeth M L. reviews for Shirley McWilliams Acupuncture, Inc.:
Completed my 11th Session. I’ve been feeling much better since I began my treatments
I’m being treated for chronic pain after several surgeries. I’ve been left with neuropathy & other issues. I’m not using pain pills therefore, acupuncture is a wonderful alternative and Shirley McWilliams does such a fabulous job!!!
I’m a work in progress.

Universal Medical and Acupuncture Clinic
Lisa C. commented for Universal Medical and Acupuncture Clinic:
I have seen Dr. Kenfack for a total of 12 sessions now and I’m so happy to have found her. She truly cares for the well-being of her patients. She takes her time, listens to your concerns, and answers all of your questions.
The office is clean and rooms, although basic, are comfortable. Her assistant Mrs. Mendoza is just as caring & friendly, which is important. Don’t know about you but I like a medical office to feel like family and they do. Bathrooms are always clean. The doors from the waiting room to the treatment rooms are always locked so I feel safe getting treatment since in a vulnerable state during treatment. They are accommodating if traveling from out of town.
I also love the fact that she works at the VA Hospital a couple times a week, helping Veterans feel better!!
If you are in pain or chronic pain, I highly recommend acupuncture from Dr. Kenfack! I hate needles. I squirm getting blood drawn but I wish I would’ve tried this sooner. It is relaxing (after a few sessions), she puts me to sleep every time, and my back pain is better because of it. Included in her treatment is some manual massage therapy which combined with needle therapy is an ultimate combination of relief.
This is a treatment that you have to continue if a chronic pain patient which I am and I hope I’m able to have more sessions approved … my hope is one day I’ll be able to go longer between sessions and hopefully end pain medications. Right now twice a week is needed.

Lotus Center For Acupuncture
Dr. Selena Mitchell
Selena Mitchell, DACM, LAc, was first inspired by acupuncture and Chinese medicine when she had the opportunity to work as an assistant to acupuncturist Ron Dong in San Francisco in 1987, at the age of 17. This memorable experience ignited her interest in integrative medicine and was the start of her lifelong study and practice in this inspiring field.
After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in developmental psychology, Selena began studying Chinese medicine in 1992. She completed her master of science degree at the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College (formerly Meiji College of Oriental Medicine) in San Francisco and obtained additional training in Seattle, WA, and Beijing, China.
She received her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at the Pacific College of Health and Science in San Diego, specializing in Integrative Medicine.
Selena also worked as Editor in Chief for the Journal of Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine and served on the Board of Acupuncturists for the California State Oriental Medical Association.
In 1999, inspired by the need for acupuncture and integrative medicine in the Central Valley, she moved to Fresno and formed the Quan Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine Clinic (formerly known as the Tower Clinic). She opened the Lotus Center in 2009.
Selena devotes her practice to general medicine with a focus on pain management, women’s health, endocrine and neurological disorders, and somatic expression of emotional issues. She is formally trained in Trauma-Informed Care and utilizes aspects of the Hakomi Method in the treatment room.
She incorporates techniques of Japanese meridian therapy, five elements, auricular acupuncture, and the NADA protocol which she studied in China, with her primary background in Chinese Medicine.
In addition to acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion, and dietary counseling, Selena also frequently prescribes herbal medicine in her work with patients. Her prescription method is based on the paradigm of Traditional Chinese Medicine, utilizing her primary training as well as the Japanese herbal system, Kampo.
She continues to study the healing process on an ongoing basis and finds the pursuit of a better understanding of the integration of the body-mind-spirit connection a life-long inspiration.

Dr. Daniel oh and his father helped me recover from my car accident. They have a modest facility and the treatment they offer is better than most. They make you feel so comfortable because they supply pillows for you to lay on while you are treated. You could fall asleep for your entire treatment.
Just tell them where it hurts and watch them go to work:)

California Green Cross Clinic
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medical technique for unblocking Qi by inserting needles at particular points on the body to balance the opposing forces.
Dolores H. said about California Green Cross Clinic:
Wow…there is so much to say regarding CGCC, so where do I begin? Okay, so starting from day 1, is a good place…indeed…
I had my first appointment almost 2 weeks ago, and on the first day, my 5-year-old niece accompanied me, because I was watching her for the day. She is a very active, outgoing, little girl, and of course, when auntie is incapacitated with needles, she does exactly as she pleases; so all I could do was shout out demands as I was lying there, without the ability to turn, let alone get up and have a “talk” with her–albeit, we did have one prior to entering… Anyway, Reyna, Dr. Kim’s assistant, was very soft-spoken as she tried to help me to convey the importance of my niece’s cooperation.
Dr. Kim was a sweetheart! He played with my niece a couple of times, which I warned could backfire, since that would only encourage her to continue to play, but Dr. Kim was not fazed a bit. I am grateful that they were (are) very kind and patient, despite the distraction(s).
Reyna, as Dr. Kim’s assistant, interprets when needed, so it is extremely helpful for communication purposes. Dr. Kim is extremely sweet and caring. His knowledge…his gift…is truly a blessing for someone like myself. His concern for one of my many ailments has put me on a path of, God willing, long term recovery, if not a complete healing.
I have my 4th appointment tomorrow, so I am anticipating a great follow-up, with wonderful blessings on the horizon. Also, Dr. Kim’s wife, Mrs. Kim, assists him as well when Reyna is busy in the front office or on the phone. She too is a sweetheart. They are all very attentive, knowledgeable and caring, which is extremely important when working on arriving on a personalized treatment.
Every time I have had an appointment, I feel as though I’m “home” with family. That’s how welcoming they are.
One thing that I truly appreciate about Dr. Kim, besides the aforementioned, is that he is extremely ethical and considerate. My first visit was a consultation/treatment, and he was honest about the inability to conduct as many treatments as are desired for the results that I was seeking, for I am, God willing, going to travel to Korea, mid-February: I needed 6 weeks worth of treatments, but only had 5 weeks, so we agreed to the latter visits.
Dr. Kim, could have easily told me that he could “fit” 6 weeks worth of treatments into 5 weeks, and I would not have been the wiser; yet his integrity and my health are more important than any monetary gain. Would all doctors have been as mindful?
Truly, I think that you too will find that Dr. Kim, Mrs. Kim and Reyna have all the characteristics of someone you’d call “family”.
P.S. I am learning Korean, so I get to “practice” some words/phrases, here and there, and I appreciate Dr. Kim’s willingness to entertain my enthusiasm! (‿)

Star Acupuncture
The theory and practice of acupuncture are based on Oriental medicine, a comprehensive natural health care system that has been used in Asian countries for thousands of years to preserve health, diagnose, treat, and prevent illness.
Mary Lou S. says about Star Acupuncture:
So far, so good! The hubby has suffered with foot neuropathy the past few years and has found no relief via his doctors. He’s not diabetic, but takes Metformin due to the foot pain. Anyway, after he was told at a recent doctor visit that there was nothing they could do, he decided to give acupuncture a try.
He called for an appointment and he was able to get into Star Acupuncture the following morning. Dr Kwak was very thorough with him and the first appointment was just over two hours. My hubby was told that his was the worst case of foot pain Dr Kwak had ever encountered. Sure hope this does the trick!

Chinese Acupuncture & Herbs
Renee P. said about Chinese Acupuncture & Herbs:
I saw Dr. Huang about two weeks ago so he could preform some Hocus Pocus on my bladder. Bladder issues that medical doctors, urologist, or urogynecolgist can’t seem to resolve. However, I didn’t know I’d be receiving electroacupuncture so it was kinda intense. Good thing I had previously completed regular acupuncture as it prepared me for treatment with Dr. Huang.
When it was all done, about 45-60 minutes later, I felt good.

KineQi Acupuncture & Wellness
Acupuncture is part of the ancient practice of Traditional Chinese medicine. Traditional Chinese medicine practitioners believe the human body has more than 2,000 acupuncture points connected by pathways or meridians. These pathways create an energy flow (Qi, pronounced “chee”) through the body that is responsible for overall health.
Disruption of the energy flow can cause disease. By applying acupuncture to specific points, it is thought to improve the flow of Qi, thereby improving health.
Studies have shown that acupuncture is effective for a variety of conditions.

FAQ for Best acupuncture in Fresno:
What is Acupuncture?
The term “acupuncture” describes a family of procedures involving the stimulation of anatomical points on the body using a variety of techniques. The acupuncture technique that has been most often studied scientifically involves penetrating the skin with thin, solid, metallic needles that are manipulated by the hands or by electrical stimulation.
What does acupuncture feel like?
Unlike hypodermic (injection) needles, which are used to draw blood or administer medication, acupuncture needles are solid, surprisingly thin, and therefore cause very little pain. When the needles are inserted, some people feel nothing while others notice a slight twinge.
This is often followed by a tingling sensation, numbness, heaviness, or warmth. During an acupuncture session, people often describe a feeling of calm and relaxation. At the end of a session, the Acupuncture Physician quickly and painlessly removes the needles and disposes of them safely. Symptom relief may occur immediately, or in the few days following treatment.
How many treatments will it take before I start noticing changes?
The rate at which a patient responds to Chinese medicine depends on a number of different factors including the nature of the condition, how long it has been present, other potential complicating factors (diet, lifestyle, etc), and the frequency with which you receive treatments.
While some patients experience significant changes to their symptoms after the first treatment, others require between six and ten treatments.
