SLC Qi Community Acupuncture

SLC Qi Community Acupuncture Clinic is dedicated to providing access to quality health care for everyone in the community. Social acupuncture goes back to the roots of how acupuncture has been practiced in Asia for thousands of years – in a group setting. People lie in comfortable recliners and are fully clothed in a quiet and peaceful room.
The community environment has many benefits: it allows you to drop in as often as you need, it’s easy for friends and family to get together, and for many people, sharing a space is relaxing and healing.
SLC Qi (pronounced “SLC Chee”) is excited to be a part of this health movement. The SLC Qi Clinic typically sees patients with pain, fertility and OBGYN issues, gastrointestinal complaints, allergies and autoimmune disorders, inflammation and arthritis pain, heart and respiratory conditions, sleep and stress disorders, and metabolic issues.

Corynn B. commented about Flow Acupuncture:

After having ongoing back pain for weeks now, I’ve been trying everything I can! Massages, chiropractor, yoga, etc. Special shoutout to Yelp Elite Jolene for suggesting to try acupuncture, which is something I’ve never done before and had never even thought to do!

I scheduled a 90-minute first time session with Aidan, and we talked through why I was there and his process. Since I’d never done this before I was feeling a little nervous, but he was so kind and understanding and made me feel so comfortable.

I started by lying on my back and he explained everything he was doing as he did it. It wasn’t painful at all! You could feel the smallest prick when the needles went in, but they were so thin and small that it was very light. He then left the room and let me lay on the table and just enjoy the acupuncture.

This was literally the most relaxed I’ve ever felt in my whole life. I can’t stop thinking about it! When he first said he was going to let me lay for about 20 minutes I was so worried that my mind would start racing and I would hyper focus on any pain points throughout my body. The exact opposite happened and I was insanely relaxed. I wouldn’t say I was skeptical going into the session, but I definitely didn’t expect to feel this at peace. My mind was clear for the first time in my life and I felt so good!

After 20 minutes Aidan came back and I laid on my stomach and we focused on the part of my back that’s been causing me pain. He’s also a licensed massage therapist so he did some massage techniques hand in hand with his acupuncture, put some heat on the area of pain and let me sit for another 20 minutes.

After that I was done! When he removed the needles, I got up and was able to raise my arms without pain for the first time in WEEKS. Last night I slept through the entire night without any pain, and woke up without pain. For the past few weeks I’ve been waking up every single morning with throbbing pain in my back, and last night I slept so hard that I almost didn’t wake up to my alarm.

Thank you so much Aidan, this was an amazing first experience and I can’t wait to come back.

Valenti Acupuncture

Valenti Acupuncture

Valenti Acupuncture was founded in 2016 by Amanda Valenti L.Ac., MSTCM. After her graduate program, Amanda relocated from Southern California in search of better accessibility to trails, mountains and rocks, leading her here to Utah.

Amanda’s vision began with the desire to create a healing space for everyone and to provide outstanding care in a space that feels like home. Co-creating Terra Care SLC, was a vision that originated for her while sketching her “dream practice” during her business class. She believes Terra gives patients the ability to address mind & body ailments, and achieve wellness by retraining the body to heal itself.

Allison C. says about Valenti Acupuncture:

Amanda is amazing! I initially came to her to help the healing process of my ankle before the snowboarding season, and since then have tackled some other persisting injuries and ailments. She is very thorough and thoughtful in each session, (and outside, she will send you great recipes!) making sure your body is working as a whole. My body is working more soundly after just a few acupuncture, cupping and moxibustion. Highly recommended!!

Cameron L. says about Valenti Acupuncture:

“When was the last time you felt content?”

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I started seeing Amanda for acupuncture.  I had been battling with chronic pain for over a year, following what, in my mind, were two failed foot surgeries. My chronic pain was no longer limited to just my foot, but was now present throughout my entire body.  When Amanda asked me this question about contentment, a light bulb went off.  There had been no contentment as long as I could remember. I had been in a perpetual state of pain, stress, and fear for quite some time.

Through a handful of sessions with Amanda, we worked not only on addressing my pain through physical measures, but also through giving the mind some time to relax, turn off the fight or flight mode, and express contentment for the multitude of things my body was still doing for me on a daily basis. Changing the conversation between my body and mind ended up being the key to overcoming my battle with chronic pain and Amanda is one of the few people I have to thank for helping spark that change.

Amanda is truly a professional at what she does.  What sets her apart – and everyone else at the Terra Health Collective – is that she genuinely cares. It’s evident in each and every appointment. I can’t thank her enough for the positive impact she has had on my life, nor can I recommend her strongly enough to anyone else out there who is considering acupuncture.

East West Health – SLC

East West Health - SLC

East West Health – SLC aims to provide the highest level of care by collaborating with acupuncturists, chiropractors and physicians side by side. East West Health – SLC’s goal is to help as many people as possible be healthy and pain-free naturally. Modar has been successful in treating various diseases, especially headaches, back pain and weight gain.

Ben S. says about East West Health – SLC:

I came in on a groupon in January of 2015 for a consultation because i wanted to explore acupuncture. I wasn’t particularly interested in the other services. I feel like the intake and treatment has been consistently very thorough, The availability of appointments has been great (2-3 days out i can usually get a good appointment still), the treatment rooms are warm, well decorated, with relaxing music, the Acupuncturists are very talented knowledgeable and intuitive, and the fact that the clinic has someone who can offer trigger point injections on top is just awesome. Ive used East West health both for maintenance and for treating painful trigger points and tension that are results of my lifestyle. The front desk ladies are always friendly and remember my name and have been incredibly helpful and easy to work with on payment options, plans, and getting insurance involved.

It is hard to find an alternative health clinic that has such a wide range of services while maintaining ambience, professionalism, and affordability. Reading some of the other reviews on here, I have been offered some supplements and products before but never pressured, and the ones i’ve used have absolutely been helpful.

Ryan and Spencer have been particularly helpful.

Classical Ways Acupuncture

Classical Ways Acupuncture

Pain management, sports injuries, stroke rehabilitation, internal medicine, chronic disease patterns, insomnia, mental health issues, fertility, and facial anti-aging treatment , as well as many other conditions, can all be addressed.

Amber C. says about Classical Ways Acupuncture:

I suffered a moderate/severe
concussion from a skiing accident.  The accident rendered me unable to work, drive, or do much of anything else.  I went to TOSH where they told me the only thing I could do is rest.  As a last ditch effort to help speed up my healing, I decided to try Accupuncture and found Dr. Mike.

Dr. Mike was thorough, careful and thoughtful about the symptoms I was experiencing.  He treated me accordingly.  After even just the first treatment, I was already back on my feet.  I knew the severity of my injury would still take lots of time for healing, but there was a marked difference in my health after just the first treatment.

I went to Dr. Mike twice a week for a month and then down to once a week.  Each time I told him about the recent concussion symptoms- insomnia, cognitive impairments, etc.  He always took care to treat exactly what I was struggling with.

I’m happy to report that thanks to Dr. Mike and the miracle of Accupuncture, I’ve made a full recovery.  I highly highly recommend Accupuncture and especially the quality care you’ll receive from Dr Mike.  He is a true professional!

FIVE-ELEMENT ACUPUNCTURE

Classical Five-Element Acupuncture is a comprehensive, and compassionate form of care that addresses the whole person. Symptoms such as pain, stress, fatigue, depression, and anxiety are the body’s way of calling out for help.

A Five-Element Acupuncture diagnosis identifies and treats the root of these distress signals. The overall effect is a restoration of balance, offering a more permanent solution to chronic problems. Acupuncture used preventively, can help maintain good health and deter injury.

Wellness cannot simply be defined as the absence of illness if an individual is not thriving. Five-Element Acupuncture can help enhance one’s sense of well-being and improve quality of life. Clients often report increased vitality, superior energy, stabilized moods, improved sleep, and clarity of mind. Classical Five-Element is unique among acupuncture styles in that it treats the whole person by addressing imbalances on all levels – body, mind, and spirit.

This comprehensive system of medicine is based on an understanding of natural law, as determined by thousands of years of observation and refinement. Acupuncture remains so effective in the modern world due to the acupuncturist’s ability to harness the power of nature to heal.

Rebecca Shatles received her master of Acupuncture from the Institute of Taoist Education and Acupuncture (ITEA) in Louisville, Colorado in 2008. She is a Diplomate of Acupuncture as certified by the NCCAOM and licensed in the state of Utah.  At ITEA Beck focused on the study of Five – Element Acupuncture as taught by JR Worsley’s direct lineage.

Beck is also an AOBTA certified therapist in Integrated Nutrition and Asian Healing Arts. She has studied various forms of bodywork since 2002 and maintains a Utah massage therapy license. Beck received her Bachelor of Arts from The University of Vermont in 1994.

Beck’s interest in working with an active population lead her to complete a post graduate apprenticeship in the diagnosis, assessment and treatment of orthopedic injuries and pain with Whitfield Reeve. Most recently she dove more deeply into the study of Anusara Yoga completing a 200 hour teacher training.

This style of yoga draws on her interest in functional movement, postural assessment and its incorporation into the design of supportive acupuncture treatments. In addition to maintaining her private practice, Beck works as an acupuncturist at the Wellness and Integrative Health Center at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital.

Beck strives to facilitate the highest level of health and well-being in her clients. She works one-on-one and takes a holistic approach to health care incorporating acupuncture, nutrition, cupping, bodywork and lifestyle recommendations. Beck views the practitioner-client relationship as a partnership.

Every client is treated as an individual, whose concerns, needs, and goals are continually readdressed. Her desire as a practitioner is to facilitate healing and help each individual reach his or her full potential. With over twelve years in practice, Beck finds she has accumulated the wisdom to support clients through life’s challenges while maintaining a playful spirit.

Beck grew up in New York City, two blocks from the ocean. An avid skier, cyclist, and surfer she has spent most of her adult life in the mountains. She has lived in Utah for over 13 years now and loves the unique mix of city, mountains, desert, and the wonderful community she has found here.

The clinic itself is immaculately clean, light and serene.  The treatment room was private and comfortable.  My initial appointment lasted about 2 hours and cost $120.  He used many techniques besides needles, like massage, heat, electric stimulation and cupping.

I will definitely be back for a second visit.  Subsequent visits are $75.  I also purchased some herbs and supplements.

Nancy P. says about Master Lu’s Health Center:

I just read a terrible review of Master Lu’s Health Center from an obviously bitter and shallow individual. I could not disagree more. My husband and  I have been taking Taichi from Master Lu for many years and have found it to be beneficial and rewarding. Master Lu is a genius at what he does and has many faithful clients. To attack Charles for his physical appearance is not only disrespectful, it is beneath the dignity of any respectable person.

Charles moves with grace and ease and is incredibly skilled. I’ve seen him exercise for an extended length of time without looking the least bit exhausted. Master Lu has spent a great deal of money over the past year improving the center and it is looking awesome.  Equipment? This isn’t a gym – it is a Taichi studio.

After leaving Taichi I literally feel like a new person. The music and the routine are incredibly relaxing. Master Lu and his wife are warm, welcoming people who have only the best interests of everyone who comes into their studio in mind. Perhaps the person writing the bitter, attacking review needs to find some way to find inner peace.
