Beth L. says about Core Acupuncture:

I had pain in my left shoulder/neck for years from running/working out. Nothing helped (physical therapy, medications, bio freeze, taping, etc.)
My primary wanted me to get an X-ray & MRI. Before I went down that route, I decided to get acupuncture. Did my research and decided to try Core.  Pain gone in one session. ONE!  It’s been abt 3-4 months and still no pain. I couldn’t be more thrilled! Both doctors are extremely nice and very educated in their field. I highly recommend.

Super AcuCare

Wendy worked as a specialist in cardiology and oncology in China before she retired from China in 2001.  She studied both Western and Traditional Chinese medicine and practice these medicines through her 30+ years of medical career.  She is a licensed Oriental Medicine practitioner in Pennsylvania since 2004.

Wendy’s extensive experience in medicine let her understand that just Western medicine alone is not enough to keep us thriving to the fullest of our life.  She uses the best of Eastern medicine to produce the best results for her clients.

Carolyn L. says about Super AcuCare:

This place has, in one sitting, risen to my regular visit list.  I received one of the best massages I’ve ever had this morning. I’m generally an athletic build and need a fair amount of pressure in very specific target places. Amy has magical hands and found all my “spots” without even talking about it. Massage is about walking the very fine line between enough pressure and too much pressure and she has a wonderful ability to read a body to know what’s just right. This is Accupressure massage (more intense than Swedish so if you’re sensitive to pressure this might be a bit intense). I left blessed out as heck and feeling amazing.

It’s very no frills. If you’re looking for a bougie spa, this is not your spot. My sheet had some holes in it…and I didn’t care. Also if you need a lot of privacy, this might be edgy since the “doors” to the massage rooms are just sheets/curtains. The folks there are very kind and I walked out feeling like a new person for $65. I will certainly be going back and would recommend to any athlete or active person – I’ve had a hard time finding a masseuse that was a good fit until now.

Wong Acupuncture Center LLC

Wong Acupuncture Center LLC

Shu Kyi Ide, also known as Xiao Huang or Wong, was a student of the late acupuncturist Chun Lang Su at Oriental Treatment Center in Philadelphia. Shu Kyi Ide studied traditional Chinese medicine with Dr. Su from 1997 until Dr. Su’s tragic death in 2009.

Initially, Shu Kyi Ide studied with and assisted Dr. Su six days a week for several years. Later, after she entered Community College of Philadelphia and then attended New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, she devoted one or two days a week, except when preparing for exams, to study with Dr. Su.

Shu Kyi Ide completed her Master of Science degree in acupuncture in December 2011. She is licensed to practice acupuncture in Pennsylvania.

During her time with Dr. Su, Shu Kyi Ide observed Dr. Su use a variety of acupuncture techniques to successfully treat many different conditions. In addition to the acupuncture treatment techniques that Shu Kyi Ide learned at New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, she also relies on her study with Dr. Su when treating her own patients.

Alexandra O. says about Wong Acupuncture Center LLC:

Dr. Wong and her Assistant Jenna are great in terms of treating the whole body when receiving acupuncture. Dr. Wong really tries to educate the patient of the imbalances in the body and uses multiple acupuncture techniques, and therapies to help the body repair itself.  It does happen overnight but it is a process in healing but you will definitely get relief after the first treatment.

I’ve been going to Dr. Wong since January and every treatment I feel my body greatly improving.  She does not try to pressure you into any treatments either.  The more you ask the better in terms of getting the best treatment to help you heal.  I highly recommend  Wong Acupuncture!

Six Fishes Neighborhood Acupuncture

Six Fishes Neighborhood Acupuncture
From setting the right tone for teen girls to menopausal women on the other side of their reproductive life, Six Fishes supports women throughout their reproductive life.

Gabriella W. says about Six Fishes Neighborhood Acupuncture:

Six Fishes was my first experience with acupuncture and cupping and I am so excited to return! The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable and the space is very clean.

I recently injured my shoulder and it has been painful. I tried to get in with a Physical Therapist but the wait combined with the need for me to get a prescription from my PCP or another doctor led me to consider other options.

I remembered a yoga instructor of mine suggested I try acupuncture for lower back pain that I have had for a few years, resulting from a mild sprain. I decided to look into Six Fishes, went to their website and booked a phone call for the same day to discuss what I was going through and to determine if acupuncture could help me.

After learning that it could, I made an appointment for a virtual intake appointment and an in person appointment the next day. This process had already proven easier than trying to get in with the PTs in my area.

I filled out an online intake form, and submit my insurance information all through their website. The process was very easy and took 10-15 minutes overall.

When I had my virtual intake appointment, I discussed my pain a bit more in depth and my practitioner Julie asked a few additional questions. Julie also answered my questions and ensured that I was feeling comfortable going into the appointment.

When I arrived for my appointment the next day, I felt prepared and excited! The staff was very helpful and explained that because my insurance did not cover acupuncture, I’d be placed in a “semi-private” space because it was less expensive.

That was fine with me! The space was very comfortable and had curtain dividers between the other semi-private spaces. I do not believe anyone else was there at the same time, but if they were, I could not hear them!

Julie walked me through the process and then began inserting the needles. I am not a huge fan of needles (is anyone?) but did not mind the insertion process at all. I noticed some soreness and a feeling of more pressure surrounding the needles that were placed on my shoulder and neck area. Julie explained that this was normal and related to my reason for coming in – the preexisting pain from my injury.

Julie placed a heating lamp over my lower back, which was lovely, and handed me a small remote that had a bell. I laid face down for 40 minutes total, and was instructed to use the remote to ring for Julie if I needed anything at all.

The first 20 minutes I was a bit more anxious, wondering when I’d be halfway through. After Julie came to check-in at the halfway mark, I felt extremely relaxed and almost sleepy! The last 20 minutes flew by.

After the acupuncture, Julie suggested I try cupping, so I did! The cups were tight on my back, but very tolerable. Julie also put a menthol cbd oil on my back before the cups and the tingling from this was really soothing. Julie explained that I’d feel tingling and that after the cupping, I’d have some marks on my back for about a week.

I really appreciated being fully informed about everything before agreeing to go forward with the procedures.

The combined total of my two appointments was very affordable, and my next visit will cost even less. I am very excited to return and feel the long term benefits of these practices!
