For twenty years Mr. Philbeck hand made and renovated mattresses for the people of Charlotte. In 1951, Mr. Philbeck’s son-in-law Eddie Hirsch joined the company and Mr. Philbeck retired. Eddie Hirsch continued the traditions of quality mattresses and outstanding customer service. He expanded the business to service the hotels and hospitals in our area.
After Mr. Hirsch’s untimely death in 1972, his wife Libby and their son Alan took over the company. It was at this time that Dilworth Mattress expanded its line of mattresses and offered their Charlotte customers a wider range of quality and comfort. Today, Dilworth Mattress produces state-of-the-art products at a direct factory to your pricing. We are proud to say that 90% of our business is generated by returning customers and word-of-mouth referrals.

My spouse and I decided it was time to get new mattresses for our Charlotte home. We have dealt with mattress retailers before, but we decided to try a “hometown” retailer. We researched and decided to pay a visit to Dilworth Mattress Factory. Wow! What a different kind of business this is!
From the moment we walked into the business and were greeted by Alan, we felt comfortable and very much at ease. We tried the various samples in the showroom and settled on two full sized Blue Heaven Latex mattresses. One mattress needed a lower foundation than normal and Alan accommodated our request without hesitation.
Delivery was scheduled for today, but there was a question that it might not happen. However, delivery was right on schedule! The delivery people were efficient and easy to deal with and carried away the old mattresses.
We are very pleased with the whole experience and we will recommend Dilworth Mattress Factory over any other retailer in Charlotte!

I shop for mine at the Outlet Store in Steele Creek and receive great service. Pay attention to sales, too, especially around the holidays. Today I saved an extra 35% which knocked off $100 in addition to outlet discounts. Winning.
