I realize I’ve been coming here every two weeks for three years for SNS and pedicures and never left a review. The first thing you should know is that you’re better off making an appointment than walking in. Long gone are the days that you just walk into nail salons for service. It’s unmanageable. They accommodate when they can, but save a headache and call for an appointment. Appointments help them manage their clientele and their revenue. Be mindful of that especially during this time when small businesses are failing.
Flor is my main technician but I’d place a broken pinky finger in either Flor or Isabel’s care. They’re just that wonderful. It’s a Latina-owned salon completely capable of every service any other nail salon in Newark can do. Good pedicures too with stone massage. The difference is that you’re getting consistent work. The salon has a ton of regulars (including me) who are loyal customers that would happily pay more than their very fair prices to maintain this level of attention and care. I am a SNS junkie, using up their supply of glitter powder.
You can look at my other reviews and see that I’ve gone through some things with other nail salons, so you can imagine my joy to have a place to frequent on a regular. I’ve included pictures of my nails over the past few years. Parking in the area okay, but watch out for the parking authority – they’re always on the hunt.

I’m giving my manicurist a 5 star. This is my first time here and my overall experience is a 3.5. Job well done by Erica!!! The shop is small and the ambiance is that of a downtown Newark shop (needs an uplift). The shop gives a premium experience to white women and treats everyone else like just another customer. Manager walks around critiquing everyone’s work as they’re with their clients. Mon-Wed are $20 gel manicures… I’ll be coming back only to support Erica because she’s great at what she does.

My first time going to Le Cache was 6/29/21. I had found them on Google after my go-to hair salon closed their business due to Covid. What I noticed immediately was the “Appointment only” statement on their shop website which was most definitely a plus for me (I’m from New York where you will have 15 girls waiting for 5 hairstylists to do a “wash n set”, so this concept was a interesting) but I wasn’t convinced, I wanted to see this “Appointment Only” Dominican hair salon for myself lol.
First time there (still under strict country wide Covid health protocols) I literally washed my hands in a portable sink set up directly outside the salon with soap and water. Immediately, I appreciated their dedication to the health of their staff and their clientele. First thing you notice walking into Le Cache is the clean surroundings. No hair all over the place, no hair in the crevices, nothing is sticky, the stylists inside are always wiping down their stations and sinks.
Bathroom is immaculant . I immediately fell in love with Angela. Granted all the stylists are fantastic, but Angela is my main girl. She’s always on time and ready to work. She colors my hair, relaxes my hair and trims my hair. Plus she’s super attentive and fast. I’m never at the salon for more then 1.5 hrs. Le Cache also offers other services including waxing by Ylonka. She does a fantastic job with my eyebrows.
They also have a resident nail tech named Lisbeth. She’s up to date on all the new styles, shapes, nail art etc. My short acrylic nails always look great and never chip (which is a big deal cuz I’m a bartender and my hands are always in wet) There’s also a sense of team work. Yikaury is always there to wash clients hair, help put in hair rollers and overall being the help where it’s needed.
But what I enjoy most of all about Le Cache is the fact that it’s a true ONE STOP SHOP (I literally book hair, nails, pedicure and eyebrows in that order, every two weeks) The entire staff is really top tier, the “Creme de la creme” of salon staffs. P.S As a point of reference I’m African American with shoulder length relaxed hair.

My first time going to Bella Nails my nails fell off during the middle of my vacation because I got UV Gel and not acrylic. However the owner, Lisa, was super kind and accommodating and made sure when I got back from vacation I received the correct service and nail set.
Kaylah who my tech the second time was an absolute doll, knowledgeable, and pushed me to get out of my basic French nail set and add some color and fun.

This nail salon is clean and very organized. It’s across the street from European Wax center so it’s convenient for my monthly pampering. Parking is intense but it’s ParkMobile supported so if you find a spot you’re good for hours. I get a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. My girl is Iris. I text her in advance to know her availability then I show up. She’s old school Dominican swag so she’s gentle and very very clean with everything that she does. Def recommend her.
